About The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Project.

Regal Development Solutions is a proud partner in the Sudden Cardiac Arrest project. Our aim is to have at least one person in each household trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by the year 2020.

Other partners include
Caribbean Health Solutions charged with increasing the number of Public Access Defibrillators (PAD’s) in high-traffic areas such as malls, gyms and movie theaters. The Sandy Crest and Coverley Medical Centers charged with increasing awareness of NCD’s, especially heart disease.

The project is capably managed by
Dr. David Byer an emergency physician, consultant for the Emergency Ambulance and Dr Chaynie Williams consultant for the Accident and Emergency Department.

Did you know?
Bystander CPR can double a Sudden Cardiac Arrest Victim's chances for survival. If CPR is not provided to a victim they can die within minutes. Persons who die suddenly from heart disease do not recognize warning signs.

Message from the Rotary Club of Barbados

Sport is life, bringing together a symphony of emotions to those on the field, and to supporters off it. Nothing beats the feeling of the joy in victory, except the soul shattering dagger of defeat.
But its the love of sport that continues to drive, motivate and inspire sportsmen and women, of all ages...to continue in that pursuit of glory.
Sport, as in life, has many forces against it, often times propelling it to the depths of despair. One such force is that of a silent killer, a deadly one, Sudden Cardiac Arrest.
Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is a condition in which the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating. SCA stops blood flow to the brain and other vital organs, and if not treated within minutes there is a less then 10% survival rate.
The Rotary Cardiac Sports Program was started to assist our community to be more aware, more prepared, and better trained in the battle against SCA.
